Convenir avec soi, convenir avec autrui : éthique stoïcienne et éthique spinoziste
Abstract
Stoic and spinozist ethics are two ethics of "convenienta (agreement). But whereas the aim of stoic agreement is oneself (stoic wisdom is turned towards itself), the aim of spinozist agreement is the others. This paper supports indeed that, according to Spinoza, we can't be at odds with ourselves : the transition from passivity to activity must be understood from the necessary affirmation of conatus, and the necessity of this affirmation implies the act of "convenire" with modes having a common nature
